Description
Henan university of Science and Technology is located in the city of Luoyang, the ancient Chinese capital of nine dynasties. This nationally famous city of historic and cultural monuments is also a modern industrial city. HUST possesses a satisfactory variety of disciplines and a distinct engineering characteristic. Its scale and comprehensive capabilities rank at the forefront. HUST, engaging in education of postgraduates, full-time undergraduate and junior college students, is one of the multidisciplinary polytechnic universities among the ones in Henan province, relatively influential both in middle China and in the machine-building trade. At present, HUST has 8 disciplines, which are engineering, economics, law, liberal arts, management, natural science, medicine and agronomy; covering more than 60 majors and specialties for undergraduates and postgraduate programs. The university also grants master degrees to the on-the-job postgraduates and provides Ph. D Programs jointly with other colleges and institutes. Now there are more than 28000 junior college students and undergraduates, 2000 postgraduates on campus. In addition, HUST is one of the first 200 universities that were authorized to enroll foreign students by the State Education Commission. Foreign students from America, Japan, Korea, France, England and some other countries come for further studying. At present, the university consists of 8 provincial or ministerial key specialties, including Mechanical Design & Its Theory, Machine Manufacturing & Its Automation, Vehicle Engineering, Material Science, Material Processing Engineering, Heat Energy & Power Project, Cerebral Surgery, Cardiovascular Internal Medicine; 6 provincial posts of specially-engaged professors, 1 provincial engineering technology research center and 26 science and technology exploitation institutions. All these have evolved a scientific research system with prominent characteristic. Among the disciplines, the research for Bevel Gear Driving is in the forward position throughout the country. Wearable Materials, New-type Function Materials, Vehicle & Engine, Computer and Control, Clinic Medicine and Cardiovascular Internal Medicine have distinct predominance and characteristic in Henan Province.
Hust is currently seeking foreign teachers for the term beginning from February, 2008.
Here is some information for the candidate to think about before making decisions.
1. vacancy: 3-4
2. candidate: English native speakers working in China with a Z visa or working as teachers in U.S., U.K., Canada and Australia or other English speaking countries or regions.
3. academic degree: bachelor’s degree or above
4. work experiences: 2-year work experience, better in English teaching
5. salary: 6440-8800 RMB per month according to the applicant’s academic degree and his/her teaching hours
6. contract period: at least one year
7. teaching hours: 16-20 per week
8. subjects to teach: linguistics, literature, oral English, listening, writing and culture and chemistry
9. air-ticket: round-trip
10. travel allowance: free for short-distance sightseeing and 2-month vacations with salary every year
11. phone call: at your own expenses
12. accommodation: on-campus apartment well furnished with TV, refrigerator, air-conditioner, computer, telephone, washing machine and other things necessary for daily life
13. insurance: medical and accident insurance
